Day 1

After a pick up from home, we make our way to Shropshire where we check in to the Mercure Telford Hotel this afternoon.

Day 2

Today we drive down the picturesque Wenlock Edge, off the beaten track towards Historic Luddlow, with its castle and an endless array of listed buildings. Here we have time to obtain lunch and explore. This afternoon we journey to the town of Bridgnorth where we take a break to look around before returning to the Hotel.

Day 3

Our first visit today is to 'where Shropshire meets Wales', the vibrant market town of Oswestry. you can hear Welsh and English voices mingling side by side in the recently voted 'coolest place to live in England'. Today is market day, with both indoor and outdoor markets to browse.

In the afternoon it is Shrewsbury that catches our attention packed with timber-framed black and white buildings amongst narrow alleyways surrounded by the River Severn.

Day 4

We visit the impressive Ironbridge Gorge where the world's first iron bridge forms the centre of this World Heritage Site. After a break here in Ironbridge village, we make our way to Blists Hill Victorian Town. This 52-acre site is a bustling recreation of a Victorian town. Buy curious products in the chemist, grocers and drapers, discover what life was like for a housewife in the cottages, enjoy a drink in the New Inn, a portion of delicious fish and chips, or a bag of old fashioned sweets.

After a relaxing breakfast, we depart the Hotel and start our journey home.
