Day 1

We depart for Nottinghamshire, making comfort stops en-route including a suitable lunch stop. Arriving at Thoresby Hall this afternoon

Day 2

This morning we travel to the thermal spa town of Buxton. There is much of historical interest in Buxton due to the healing properties of its famous thermal, spa waters, known today and bottled as Buxton Water. The Natural Baths are located on the site of original Roman Baths which are themselves thought to be located on the site of an ancient shrine.

In the afternoon we visit the market town of Bakewell, known for the Bakewell Pudding. Surrounded by glorious countryside, the town offers charming tea rooms set in cosy courtyards, impressive stone buildings, a quaint five-arched bridge that goes back to Roman times, a Grade I listed church, a museum, historic almshouses, and various riverside attractions.

Day 3

Today we travel to the city of Lincoln with its magnificent Cathedral, and the Norman Castle next door. The old town is a labyrinth of little alleyways and interesting shops to explore with plenty of tea rooms to keep you going with refreshments.

From the tip of the Cathedral to the depths of the Roman waterways, Lincoln is full of fascinating stories just waiting to be discovered. Packed with things to see and do, Lincoln is a destination that everyone can enjoy. With award-winning attractions, great shopping and a wealth of places to eat and drink.

Day 4

A day at leisure to enjoy the facilities at the hotel, such as the indoor heated swimming pool, cinema room, games room or library.

Day 5

We depart the hotel after breakfast, making our way home, with a visit to Melton Mowbray. Pork Pies and Stilton cheese are made here and at the heart of Melton’s appeal. English royalty’s association with Melton goes back to the 1100s.

After some free time, we continue our journey, arriving back in East Sussex early this evening.
