Day 1: Arrival at the Crown Spa Hotel

Day 2: Discover Whitby, renowned for its abbey and Captain Cook history, followed by a scenic ride across the moors to Pickering.

Day 3: Free day to explore Scarborough, including its beaches, gardens, and historic sites.

Day 4: Free day to explore York

Day 5: Departure after a relaxing breakfast at the hotel.

Day 1

We travel north to Yorkshire to arrive at the Crown Spa Hotel, Scarborough in time to settle in and relax before dinner.

Day 2

This morning we head north following the coast road to Whitby - the famous fishing port which was once the home of Captain James Cook. High above the harbour stands the 7th century Whitby Abbey, the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula. We have time to wander around the narrow streets and busy harbourside before leaving for a scenic ride across the moors to Pickering.

Day 3

A free day to discover the varied attractions of Scarborough at your own pace. Enjoy the delightful promenade in the South Cliff Gardens. See the Grade 2 listed Scarborough Spa, a beautiful venue for open-air concerts in the Summer. Take a short walk to the town centre with its indoor markets and antique shops. Amble down to the busy little harbour, amusements and beach of South Bay. Walk up to Scarborough’s fortress castle and enjoy panoramic views across both bays. Meander through tranquil Peasholm Park and perhaps take a boat out on the lake or stroll past the beach huts along the quieter North Bay. Or take a ride on the miniature North Bay Railway, past the restored Open-Air Theatre, along the North Bay to Scalby Mills and the Sealife Centre.

Day 4

This morning we leave for a day at leisure in the ancient and historic city of York. In York there are lots of things to see and do; The National Railway Museum, The Jorvik Centre, The Castle Museum, stroll around the City Walls, wander around the excellent shops, explore the many quaint little alleyways, and, of course, no visit to York is complete without seeing magnificent York Minster. Late afternoon we return to Scarborough.

After breakfast, we leave and head for home.
